The Mysterious Murder of Nellie Rault
The Mysterious Murder of Nellie Rault
News of the Times Episode 465 | 1919
In today’s episode, we’re traveling back to Bedford in 1919.
Nellie Rault, a bright and beautiful 21-year-old serving in Queen Mary’s Auxiliary Corps in post-World War I England, has mysteriously vanished. She was last seen on Friday evening, mentioning plans to meet her beau—a Sergeant Major. But she never returned.
Days later, her body is discovered brutally stabbed, hidden beneath branches and bracken, shockingly close to the camp gate—no more than 20 yards away.
We delve into this chilling case, which drew in Scotland Yard, and unravel the investigation, the suspects, and the ultimate outcome.
And in today’s Further Particulars segment, we step even further back in time to 1807, where a bizarre and brutal multiple murder began with something truly strange—a cow believed to be bewitched...
Hosted by Robin Coles.
